Florida Academic Cancer Center Alliance Funding Opportunity

On behalf of the Florida Academic Cancer Center Alliance, we are excited to announce our fourth Funding Opportunity Announcement for new collaborative projects involving the Moffitt Cancer Center, UF Health Cancer Center at the University of Florida, and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami. This opportunity is designed to further build collaboration amongst the three Centers, each of which is providing funding for the awards.

Each proposal requires strong, meaningful collaboration by investigators from at least two of the three Centers. These are significant pilot awards, and each institution’s component of the project may be up to $50,000, which excludes support for PI or Co-PI salary. Thus, a proposal with two Centers would total up to $100,000; or with three Centers, $150,000. Projects will be reviewed on the strength of their scientific merit, innovation, measurable deliverables/milestones, potential to obtain extramural funding, strength of collaboration and feasibility within the funding period.

We are assembling a listing of expertise at each of the three Centers to help investigators in selecting collaborators. Please see our floridacancerresearch.org website for additional information.

A non-binding letter of intent is requested by November 19, 2018, with the full application due on December 14, 2018. Applicants will be selected and notified on or before March 1, 2019, with a project start-date of April 1, 2019.

We encourage you to pursue this funding opportunity, and look forward to exciting scientific projects from our members! Please contact your administrator Robert Houlihan at UF, Barbara Vance at UM; or Brian Springer at Moffitt) with any questions.
